I SUPPORT CHOICE AND FAIRNESS

The Ontario Government is expanding the sale of beer and wine in private retail locations across the province, bringing choice and convenience to consumers like you. But it’s about more than choice and convenience – it’s about changing an outdated and unfair model that puts small producers and business owners at a disadvantage.

You might be surprised to learn that The Beer Store is not government-owned. In fact, it’s primarily controlled by three big brewers: Molson-Coors, Labatt and Sleeman. Since 2008 none of these companies are Canadian owned.

Ontario’s private-monopoly system is unique in the world, and many other provinces have opened up their beer market over the last 25 years.

Our current system picks winners and losers, and doesn’t allow all businesses the same opportunities to compete. That’s not fair, and it needlessly inconveniences consumers.

Sign below to let the Ontario government know: It’s time for choice, convenience and fairness in Ontario.
